Don't "Save Your Tears," this is a good time to spend them — the Weeknd has postponed his After Hours Til Dawn tour opener, scheduled for tonight (July 8) in his hometown of Toronto, due to Rogers' nationwide service outage.

The official announcement was made mere minutes before doors were scheduled to open at 6:30 p.m. ET, with many fans reportedly in line at the Rogers Centre or on their way.

A tweet from the official Toronto Blue Jays Twitter account states, "We regret to announce that The Weeknd tour stop at Rogers Centre has been postponed due to service outages impacting venue operations. A new show date will be shared ASAP and tickets will be honoured. We understand how disappointing this is and apologize for the inconvenience."

UPDATE (7/9, 12:00 a.m. ET): The Weeknd has shared his response to the cancellation. A statement posted to his social media pages reads:

I'm crushed & heartbroken. Been at the venue all day but it's out of our hands because of the Rogers outage. Operations and safety are compromised and I tried my absolute best. This one hurts the most, and we will make this show happen, but unfortunately not tonight. I know how long you've been waiting and how hard a lot of you worked to make it to the show and experience this special moment with me. I can't wait to see you all. 💔

This isn't the first bit of bad news to hit the After Hours Til Dawn tour — initially scheduled opener Doja Cat dropped off the tour in May to recover from tonsil surgery. She was replaced by Kaytranada and Mike Dean. No other dates on the tour have been affected so far; the tour is now set to begin in Philadelphia on July 14; the only other Canadian stop is in Vancouver on August 23.

This comes after the original After Hours arena tour was announced for 2020, rescheduled and rescheduled again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and then scrapped for the After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour. The Weeknd hasn't played his hometown since 2018, when he played a special set at REBEL nightclub as part of the launch for his HXOUSE talent incubator.
