While Kim has yet to address the valid critiques about her "conspicuous consumption" during one of the most unstable economic periods of our time, Khloe took to The Ellen DeGeneres Show to stand up for her family, describing the trip as "beautiful."
As far as the hate lodged against the family online is concerned, Khloe seems to think her sister's bougie birthday was worth it.
"I don't really know the extent of it, but this year is a frustrating year," she told DeGeneres. "I get it. I think there's so many frustrations going on for everybody. But also it's her 40th. This is something that she wanted to do for us. It was such a nice thing."
She attempted to defend the party by explaining that the resort staff needed the business due to lack of tourism during the ongoing pandemic.
"So many people said that we were their first party of guests that they've had in months and what it's done for them to be able to pay their bills or to be able to do stuff for their family," she explained. "Just hearing those messages when we were there, we felt really good and we felt so safe. We did it in the safest way I could imagine someone doing it."
Twitter is, once again, outraged at the family for missing the entire point of recent criticism lodged against them, with some pointing out the irony of appearing on DeGeneres' show to make her statement — after Ellen herself was just embroiled in her own controversy.

Wait so Khloe Kardashian went on the Ellen show to defend Kim's birthday party? Great idea, using a disgraced, controversial talk show to discuss your sisters controversial birthday party. 👏 job well done. Dumbass.— CoveysBurnersBurner (@_JameyPaula) October 29, 2020
like it's not about how "we were being safe" it's about how 1) you don't know how safe they were. bold considering how u have at risk parents n kids and 2) they have said themselves that u paid their bills. we can infer that they may not have the resources to deal w covid— julia 🪐 (@scariessun) October 29, 2020
And like clockwork Khloe's on Ellen this week defending the 40th birthday trip and emphasizing the health precautions they took. Like that's all anyone cares about https://t.co/R3p9QFXScf— brooke🧄 (@BrookeDS_) October 29, 2020
@khloekardashian is just as tone deaf. No one was mad y'all went out of town. People were mad because @KimKardashian compared her struggle of not being able to "simply travel" in extreme luxury to people ACTUALLY STRUGGLING. Not surprising from her in the least.— sith princess sarah- BLM ❗️ (@sithprincess823) October 29, 2020
Some people got death for their 40th, Khloe https://t.co/dcu55JtqQS— Pri 𖤐 (@priyankanair_) October 29, 2020
It isn't even so much that she spent more on that trip than many families will earn in a year (maybe a decade), but that she posted the photos with a comment about being "humbled" as if she had any idea what humble means.— Jefe (@Jefe) October 29, 2020
