Published Oct 09, 2020New York art punks Gustaf have just signed with Toronto label Royal Mountain Records, and they've shared a video for debut single "Mine."
The track is a spiky, bass-driven post-post tune full of angular riffs and brash sing-speak vocals. An announcement from the group calls "Mine" a "song about the overly entitled and underwhelmed."
The video, directed by Joey Chriqui, is similarly in-your-face — often literally — as vocalist Lydia Gammill menacingly roams the streets and rounds up the other band members for a glittery performance in an empty club. It's part origin story, part abduction, and features lots of lipstick over-application.
Check it out below. "Mine" will be released on red 7-inch vinyl on December 4, and is available to pre-order now from Royal Mountain. In an Instagram story, Beck shared the video and called Gustaf "one of my favourite bands."
